The Debut of 2015 Sailing Season in BC
A short planeride away, in Vancouver, British Columbia, the weather is milder. There, the Boat Show is divided between two venues. False Creek, which runs through the trendy and artsy Granville Island displays the newest boats in water! A hardy few boat show attendees, shake off their wet umbrellas and galoshes to board the newest production line sail and power boats. A water taxi ride away delivers them to the Booths and Seminar Rooms at BC Place. After visiting the booths and boutiques, attendees grab a bite at the food core, just in time to enter their selected Seminar Room. For one hour, BC boating enthusiasts enjoy the same pleasures as their Ontario counterparts.
Ontarians must wait another 4 months to launch their boats. Vancouverites are on the water now! The recent balmy 12 degree days find marinas dotted with people pulling buggies piled with everything from cushion to cowel vents, diesel tanks to propane tanks and chart plotters to soft wood stoppers. The sailing season has begun here!
